Pointing vs Nameservers

Why would you connect a domain via pointing or NameServers?

Nameservers are the perfect connection solution for those that have mailboxes with Wix or for those who have one of the following needs.

You must connect your domain via name servers to use the following features:

• Sending email campaigns from your own custom email domain with Email Marketing.

• Creating subdomains for each language version of your site with Wix Multilingual.

• Connecting a subdomain to an album with Wix Photo Albums.

Connecting via pointing is my recommendation for anyone who has external email (IE email through Google, or GoDaddy.) Pointing is also the correct choice for those who want their site up and running within moments. A proper connection via pointing includes an update of the A name to 23.236.62.147 and a CNAME found in their UM

Pointing will take the site up within 90 minutes, while NS take up to 48 hours for full propagation
